Where do we start, how do we start…” We checked what we already had. We had enough hands and INOX (Pune) was willing to be a part of this. That left us with sourcing the plants and pot. Chetan was ready with a list of numbers and addressess. The four of us, Siddhu, Nikhil, Chetan and me divided the work amongst us. Siddhu and Nikhil looked into one half of the city while Chetan and me looked into the other half which also included meeting the GM of INOX.

The INOX deal was a huge thrust of encouragement. We were given far more than we expected. Apart from space at the parking lot and opposite the box office we were given places to put up posters.

It’s said that good always happens when good is being done. In a short while we had finalized our pots and plants and also thought of concepts for our posters.

On D-day responsibilities were shared. The girls headed by Aditi took care of operations at INOX, Vinay, our creative guy, took care of putting the concepts on paper, while the rest, the guys, had to fill the pots with mud and carefully place the plant in them.

By 3 pm we were all set. Everyone was briefed on the importance of the activity and on ek titli.

We were all spirited people having a common goal and with immense enthusiasm we distributed a total of 102 plants in just about 3 hours. A feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction prevailed amongst us, the magnitude we had not expected. With the encouraging and overwhelming response received, we knew, ‘this was just a small step for the titli‘.

Our sincerest gratitude goes out to all those people who directly/indirectly helped us make this happen.

A few days back, Anish Sanghai sent us the pictures and also an update on the trees that he has planted. A total of 4 plants have been planted by him out of which 3 still survive.
Thanks Anish. Keep the updates coming.

dude… the pic of the lemon tree that i had got planted at our mandir dharamshala…. the other plant could not survive.. there is a lot of “dimak” in that land… this time i have taken one mango and one orange plant.. hopefully they will survive..

If you have planted a tree, do mail us pictures and also write in a word about the kind of plant/tree that you have planted.

The mail below was sent by one of our members to all his friends; educating them about this organization and encouraging them to support by recommending someone.

Hey,

I am mailing you on behalf of ek-titli, hoping that you have received the letter, the email and also the money order, because the money order will surely encourage you to plant a tree.

I have already sent this SET of letters-email-MO to 17 people, literally using up my contacts that I believe will be responsible to plant a tree and help the environment and its cause.

What’s of concern to me is that I have run out of contacts due to which there has been a long pause in sending more of such SETS.

The only solution I have is requesting you to provide me details of people whom you believe will help this cause.

Just scroll down your phone book, or the contacts in your email, or flip through your address book, and I am certain that you will find at least a few to whom such SETS can be sent to.

I request you to send me the contact details and the addresses of these people along with the occasion on which such SETS can be sent.

[ to recommend someone click here otherwise mail us at titli [at] ektitli [dot] org giving us the details. We’ll take it forward from here but we will keep you updated. ]

I believe that this is a good thought, but to help this thought to grow in magnitude and dimension, I will need your participation.

The titli eagerly awaits your mail.

Best wishes and deepest regards.

Vaibhav Dugar

Life Cycle of the ‘titli’

Egg: During the ‘egg’ phase we send ‘letters’ to various people.

Larva: ‘Letters’ reach the respective people in the ‘larva’ phase.

Pupa: The objective is achieved in this phase. i.e., when the recipient plants trees/buys a flower pot/gifts a sapling, etc.

Adult/butterfly/titli: When the same people suggest names and addresses of responsible people to whom such a ‘letter’ can be sent to on various occasions or festivals. This helps the thought and the cause to grow.

Recommending someone is simple. Just click here and fill a form or mail us at titli [at] ektitli [dot] org or copy paste the following link on your address bar:

Thank you Vaibhav for taking this initiative.
